Cece Zhao is a climate finance expert with a decade of experience driving capital toward decarbonization solutions at the intersection of clean energy, finance, and technology. At Vectors Capital, Cece focuses on deal sourcing, investment due diligence, and portfolio strategy, in addition to supporting programming and business development.Â
Cece joined Vectors Capital from AES, a clean energy company, where she specialized in greenfield and M&A project investment, as well as new business model valuation across multiple technology verticals. Prior to joining the energy industry, she was a veteran investor at Invesco and AllianceBernstein, leading workflows in market research, portfolio construction, investment strategy, quantitative analytics, and investment execution. At AllianceBernstein, she oversaw $10B investments, specializing in macro tactical asset allocation, real assets, and energy strategies, spearheaded the team's first energy transition investment portfolio, and advanced the initiatives in carbon investing and sustainability/ESG integration. Besides her corporate roles, Cece has been entrenched in the startup ecosystem by consulting climate and AI startups in product development, financial projections, business models, and go-to-market strategies. She currently serves on the board of the Women of Renewable Industry and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) Bay Area Chapter, supporting the career development of women in the clean energy sector. With professional experience spanning Asia, Europe, and the US, she is committed to scaling decarbonization solutions globally through strategic international collaboration.
Cece holds a Master's degree in Operations Research from Columbia University, a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong, and a certificate in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy from Yale University. She is a CFA Charterholder with additional certification in ESG investing.
