Johnny Huang, Ph.D.

Johnny is the co-founder & president of Teratonix, a cleantech startup focusing on breakthrough energy harvesting technologies. He has also been actively involved in climatetech-related startup programs, such as Cleantech Open, as a mentor and judge. Previously, he advised both multinational corporations and startup clients in the cleantech, energy, fintech, technology, and internet sectors on mergers & acquisitions and capital raising at Bear Stearns, Evercore and China Renaissance (US). Prior to Bear Stearns, he was a founding member and VP Sales & Business Development of a venture-backed startup, RSoft Design Group (acquired by Synopsys (Nasdaq: SNPS)). Prior to RSoft, he worked as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Johnny received his B.S. in Physics, Ph.D. in Applied Physics and MBA from Peking University, Columbia University, and Columbia Business School, respectively. In his spare time, Johnny enjoys soccer and rock climbing; he has been the co-captain of an NYC-based amateur soccer team since 1993 and an active volunteer judge at USA climbing youth regional and divisional championships since 2018.

Johnny has always had a strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation, and would like to focus on climatetech venture creation to make a meaningful social impact for the next chapter of his career. Johnny is particularly interested in joining the Vectors Capital team because of its focus on deeptech and its high touch approach to work together with entrepreneurs, which will provide an exciting platform to connect all his prior dots.
