Emerging decarbonization technologies face significant challenges when implementing First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) plants. These projects require a delicate balance between maximizing economic potential and mitigating perceived risks that could jeopardize their viability. This balance is particularly crucial for FOAK projects, which are often perceived as riskier and may have higher upfront capital costs than the market can readily support.
